The Kings Arms is an attractive and historic 16th Century property built in c.1575. It became an Inn in 1675. During the civil war, troops of King Charles I were billeted at the Kings Arms in October 1664 before the second battle of Newbury.
The Kings Arms is, at its heart, a traditional community pub designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of the local residents, whilst also welcoming the many visitors who frequent this historic town.

Award winning publicans, Steve and Lucy, have been running pubs and bars together for 7 years, most recently picking up numerous accolades at The Plough Inn, Longparish. Before deciding that working for themselves was the way to move forward and enjoy life.
Their passion for all things pubs is based on 3 simple things. Good food, great beer, and fantastic service. Although Lucy is presently on maternity leave, preparing for their first child together. They have put a great team together and work tirelessly to ensure that their business is based on fresh, locally sourced produce served in a great atmosphere at competitive prices. Having lived in the area for 3 years now, they have built a loyal following. With many customers following them to The Kings Arms because of their warm, friendly welcome and passion to succeed.
